With everyone slowly holding hands and just accepting death, its so painfully forced. Its a great scene but from an entirely different movie. And then we had this thing where the battery – the motorcycle runs out of battery, and they all have to hop on the car and then the car runs out of batteries, and they all have to hop on the plane and then the climax was that they're all on the plane, and they just slide through the window and go smashing into Andy's bedroom just as he's walking up the stairs, and he finds his toys there and packs them all away. I feel that the incinerator scene is insulating because it manipulates the audience into crying even though it makes no sense. Woody attempts to return home but is taken home by Bonnie, a child from Sunnyside. And so you have this – it's sort of this comedy sprint to the finish where you have a ticking clock and Andy's about to leave for college. With 17-year-old Andy ready to leave the nest and spread his wings after the events of Toy Story 2 (1999), Woody and the toy gang sense the time for hard goodbyes is just around the corner. At least, living in the attic is better than nothing. So, the people on the motorcycle are controlling the car, the people in the car are controlling the airplane. That’s not to say that it’s too scary for kids, but it’s definitely. If they had gotten much closer, they might’ve started melting or potentially burning. But the toys werent even too close to the fire when they were saved.

They get back on their vehicles, and they take off, and then they realize retroactively that they all grabbed the wrong remote controllers. Toy Story 3 mostly leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy, but it’s a horrific, emotional rollercoaster for the characters. Some pages in the internet say the toys were saved at the last minute. And they're going to use that to get back to Andy's house in time, and then they all try to take off, and they immediately collide with each other, and they get themselves sorted out.

And so the initial third act of the film – I don't know if anyone's talked it publicly or discussed it, but the initial third act was, they realize that they're right next to Al's Toy Barn, and so they go into Al's Toy Barn, they get a bunch of – they get a radio-controlled car, a radio-controlled motorcycle, and a radio-controlled airplane. The incinerator isnt the sad part (especially on repeat watches when you know they all live. It came out in my first year of university so I was a blubbering mess at that stage. My grown ass cried through the whole last 30 minutes. It certainly comes from one of the year’s best films. People always talk about the incinerator bit, but this is the scene that killed me.

The initial third draft was, they escaped from Sunnyside, and then they realized that Andy's leaving for college in like ten minutes, and they had no time to get home to Andy's house. (US) Though it’s barely two months old, it is time to declare a best scene of Summer 2010.
